Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post. Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post.

I have read them all, just taking a little bit longer to reply to them. 😊

With your help I think we'll be in a good place for him to learn.

I wanted to advocate the importance of a mental health day. It was so good for him yesterday and he's in a good place to go back to school, except....

He has a fever today so he's taking a sick day! Which is fine, too. Although I didn't think we'd be out 2 days the first full week of school πŸ™ƒ but here we are.

I wasn't going to post this image in my feed, but I feel like it would be a good one for today! I'm so thankful Dawson has an awesome support system here at home and in his family. He is truly surrounded by goodness. 😊

Be sure to check out my stories for my FOLLOW FRIDAY! Let's boost each other up and find new accounts to follow πŸ₯°πŸ’₯πŸ’ƒπŸΌ

Happy Friday everyone 😊❀

Here's to the weekend!
Welcome to our photography loop where a group of us have come together to share images that give us that Friday feeling.
Follow the loop around until you get back to me and enjoy the vibes!

It breaks my heart that Dawson is dealing with bul It breaks my heart that Dawson is dealing with bullies at school.

I had such a big conversation with him yesterday about always trying to treat others with kindness, even if they aren't kind to you. I'm saddened that he feels so down. He was so upset that he's taking an emotional day away from school. This is only the second week of school. How are kids already mean by the time they are 5 or 6?

Do you have any recommendations for me? How do I handle this? I'm in a very new territory and it frightens me, to be honest! He is such a light to everyone he meets, it just breaks my heart that THAT quality is something he's being bullied for.

My heart is heavy.

Remember to be kind to everyone, even those who bully you. You never know what they're going through. πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜’
5 Tips To Capture Toddlers Toddlers can be so har 5 Tips To Capture Toddlers

Toddlers can be so hard! My daughter is on the older end of being a toddler, but that doesn't mean it's easier. She has a mind of her own and when she's done, she's done! So here are some tips to capture Toddlers (I'm defining Toddlers as 12 month - 3 years) on your camera!

πŸ’ƒπŸΌ Make sure your shutter speed is high! Toddlers are really fast and having a high shutter speed will help capture Toddlers easier.

πŸ’₯ Give them something to do! Especially if you want want image of them sitting still. In this series I gave her fake flowers to play with and that made her happy!

πŸ’« Watch for cues that they are done - don't over do it! Or else you'll have a cranky toddler on your hands and that's never fun. Toddlers can get overstimulated so make sure you don't reach that point and if you're noticing signs, put the camera down and just be with them instead. This makes taking pictures a fun activity instead of a stressful one!

🌿 One of my favorite tips (that I didn't do here) is to just let them explore and capture them in a new place. NO pressure of perfect pictures, but just capture them experiencing the world.

🌼 If you want them to look at the camera, ask them if they can see the rainbow in your lens. To get images of my daughter looking out the window, I told her to look for a bunny (we have a lot of those in our yard constantly). Another tip is to ask if they "see a ___" (I usually say, dinosaur or a favorite character) in your lens. To get them to smile, potty jokes usually do the trick! πŸ˜‰

Did you know... That horizontal images typically Did you know...

That horizontal images typically don't do as well as vertical images here on Instagram?

The reason for that is because they take up less space when scrolling. So if you're always posting horizontal, try mixing in some vertical ones. 😍 do you have to leave the horizontals off of Instagram? Definitely not! But I just advise posting some vertical ones more often than horizontal πŸ˜‰

What do you post more of? Horizontal or vertical? Oh and also do you shoot mostly horizontal or vertical? Comment below πŸ‘‡πŸ»

I post mostly vertical and also take mostly vertical!!

If you want to learn more about how to grow your engagement and take back your account, my course Instagram and the Photographer goes on presale Sept 7! Send me your email to get on the notify list, as there will only be a limited amount of spaces!!

These are my more elaborate edits where I took my photos into photoshop to add some magic! I love using Lightroom as exclusively as possible....but sometimes an image BEGS to be taken into Photoshop, right?!

My favorite thing to use is πŸ’«overlaysπŸ’« in Photoshop! I also love that Clone tool, it's just so much better in Photoshop, am I right?
