My little reindeer 🦌 So apparently Dawson want My little reindeer 🦌 So apparently Dawson wants nothing to do with pictures. You probably won't see him in pictures for a while 😫 unless they're old. He just runs away or cries if I try to take a picture of him and I'd like to save his feelings. Laurelle on the other hand is miss and hit. This face accurately shows her personality most da This face accurately shows her personality most days. Still love her. But she's a grumpy pants. Cute bonnet from @indiemaeandco 🎶 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎶 We put up our tree! So, funny story. We ordered our tree online and then went to pick it up in the store. We had to wait a little bit once we for to the store and so my husband was like "let's go look for the tree we bought!". When we finally find it....we're sooo disappointed. It looked so thin and bad. We said we'll endure this Christmas and maybe save up and buy a nice one next year. We got home and sweet Dawson boy decided he wanted to put it up that night. Who am I to say no? I'm no grinch! So we put it up and again, we thought oh no, this is an ugly tree. But then my husband and I started working magic fluffing up that tree. And when we finally stepped back to look at it, we were so delighted. It looks normal and full (we could definitely get a fuller tree, but it's wayyyy better than we expected). Something about this image just makes me smile. P Something about this image just makes me smile. Perhaps it's the way that his feet don't touch the ground but his pants are too small. Perhaps it's the way he's looking down and you can see his beautiful eyelashes. Perhaps it's the soft expression. Gentle, kind, that is drawing me in. Perhaps it's the fact that he's wearing his favorite color: red. Perhaps it's the fact that he's sitting on his step-great-grandma's porch. Two years ago I never would have thought that possible, but forgiveness can happen and because of that, I have new people to love. Perhaps it's the soft, golden hour light. The light that makes my heart pitter-patter with excitement, the light that makes me pick up the camera time and time again. No, I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm starting some big transitions with her. She ha I'm starting some big transitions with her. She has proved to needing more time than her big brother and I'm listening to her. But she is finally ready to start the transition to her own bed. Let me explain. I co-sleep with my kids. I have tried to have them in their own space, and my anxiety overcomes me. I get a lot more sleep when they're next to me. When I first became a mom, I got a lot of negative comments to the fact that I co-sleep. I'm usually quiet about it because it works for me and I don't want someone to talk negative about it. When my son was a baby, I couldn't bare the thought of him being anywhere but right next to me. For my own sanity, I co-slept with him. He's been out of our bed for almost 2 years now. He's a champ! He transitioned slowly but once it clicked, he's slept through the night ever since. Laurelle has always needed more love. More snuggles. She's needed to know and feel safe. She finally started showing that she didn't need me anymore...she's slowly started to ween from breastmilk, she's almost there. She only has about 10 mins at night now. My momma heart is so proud but also sad. How bittersweet this transition is for me. It's made me realize that I no longer have a baby....but a full on toddler. She is growing up before my eyes. I say all of this to say...listen to your heart. Listen to what your kids need from you. Don't let any negative comments stop you from doing what's right for you and your kids. I believe every mother has things that work better for her. Find what that is and stick to it. There is so many different ways to mother...not a right or a wrong way, but multiple ways to mother and be a good mother. You've got this. You're a good mom, whether you co-sleep or not, breastfeed or bottle feed, etc, YOU'RE A GOOD MOM. Spread love, always.
